Victim Support Groups

You are not alone! The KVCV family is here to help you through the hardest moments of your grief by connecting you with other people who know what it’s like to lose a loved one to violent crime. These support groups are available for you to interract with others like you, day or night, so that you can get the support you need to process, grieve, and heal. 

Light a Candle

Our team at KVCV wants to remember your loved one. We have set up a special place where you can share your own story of that of a loved one who has been killed by violent crimes. We would be honored if you would light a candle on our website. You may also view all candles and say a prayer for the other survivors in our KVCV community.

Kentucky Victims of Homicide Memorial

The KVHM serves as an enduring memorial to victims of homicide and provides a symbol of remembrance and hope for their surviving loved ones. The memorial includes the wall, monument, bricks, pavers, and benches.

The memorial is located at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, Kentucky.

Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services

The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services provides resources for Health and Wellness, Families, Medical, and Records in the state of Kentucky. 

Kentucky Suicide Prevention Group

We believe suicide is a preventable public health problem, and we are devoted to help keep our fellow Kentuckians alive. Suicide is a leading cause of death in our state, particularly for our youth and young adults. It’s time we talk about this and unite so other families are spared the lifetime of pain and grief that we all know too well.

Victim Connect

The VictimConnect Resource Center is a referral helpline where crime victims can learn about their rights and options confidentially and compassionately.

The VictimConnect Resource Center serves victims of crime in the United States. Our services are specifically designed to refer victims to the most appropriate local or national resources based on their experiences and needs. Our most served crimes are:

  • Sexual Assault (including campus)
  • Assault/Attempted Homicide
  • Domestic/Dating Violence (and/or protective order violations)
  • Homicide
  • Financial Crimes (Identity Theft, Fraud and/or Exploitation)
  • Hate Crimes
  • Human Trafficking (labor and sex)

Hosparus Health

The Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center offers the area’s most comprehensive selection of articles, programs and services for children, adolescents, adults and families coping with loss due to death.

Helping Youth After Traumatic Events 

This brochure is filled with contact information for various agencies to support children and teens as they process and heal from traumatic events. It also contains pointers and information for getting help for children and teenagers.
